QC Manager Position – USDA/FSIS regulated food company

 

Starting salary is between $45,-$50 with medical.  Job responsibilities include implement GMP, SSOP and HACCP in the company; Supervise and train employees to perform following GMP, SSOP and HACCP; Assure all products are safe and high quality; Make the flows of production lines smoothly; Answer USDA questions.

Position and Candidate description:

 

The corporate food safety/quality assurance director is responsible for managing and directing the company’s FS/QA programs. The goals of the position are to further enhance Jetro Restaurant Depot FS/QA programs, to ensure regulatory compliance, and to enable Jetro Restaurant Depot to consistently provide the highest quality food products to independent business owners nationwide.

 

The candidate:

 

  • Must be highly knowledgeable in food safety.
  • Should have a degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related fields.
  • Must be HACCP certified, and ideally certified as a HACCP instructor.
  • Should have experience in dealing with regulatory authorities, at local, state, and national levels.
  • Must be able to train and motivate.
  • Must be able to implement solutions that work nationwide.
  • Should have a take charge, proactive approach.
  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to deal with all levels of the internal organization, and external groups such as customers, regulatory groups, etc.
  • Should have familiarity addressing FS and QA issues from the level of individual training to corporate wide policy.
  • Should be intolerant of less than excellent results.

This position is responsible for providing QA support and leadership to RDM, unit managers  and chefs to achieve implementation and compliance of Compass Group’s Quality Assurance Standards and local/county jurisdiction public health standards.

 
Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitate and support implementation of Compass Group Quality Assurance Standards in all operations.
  • Provide weekly audits in all operations on regular basis.
  • Support investigation of all alleged foodborne illness reports, follow protocol and enlist corporate quality assurance  support. 
  • Conduct ServSafe training as needed.
  • Support third party food safety audits conducted on campus, interpret and support corrective action for non compliance.
  • Conduct Monthly Food Safety Inspections and delegate tasks for improvement.   

Qualifications:  

  • Registered ServSafe trainer with the Education and Foundation
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to plan strategically for continuous quality improvement of QA program on campus
  • Registered NY certification, Certified Food manager  
  • BA degree or equivalent exp
  • 5 years of related experience in foodservice with operations and quality assurance focus.
